All England Tennis Association Wimbledon

The Long Bar is one of the busiest areas during the Wimbledon Championships, with thousands of visitors enjoying a glass of champagne or a bowl of strawberries. After years of painting the existing floor and as part of the redevelopment of Centre Court, Robex Contracting was asked to provide a hard-wearing long-term solution.

RXEP Liquid Floortile 3000

Work undertaken

Self-levelling RXEP Liquid Floortile 3000 was applied at 3mm. The old floor paint was removed using Blastrac preparation equipment. The floor was then treated with two coats of an Epoxy Primer and the following day, a team of six men applied the resin to approximately 600 square meters, to give a completely seamless hard-wearing surface.

Outcome

Our superb floor finish was used at Wimbledon for a number of years without any maintenance required.
