Objective

Provide a hard-wearing, seamless, resin flooring finish to the concrete substrate.

Materials used

RXEP Hi-Build 500

The RXEP Hi-Build 500 resin flooring system is designed for superior chemical resistance, strength, and resilience. Ideal for a variety of industrial, commercial, and manufacturing environments, including warehouses, chemical processing facilities, printing operations, food production plants, bakeries, dairies, abattoirs, and breweries, it comes in a variety of colors and can be customized with anti-slip features and line markings. RXEP Hi-Build 500 is solvent free and has very low odour during application.

  • Hard-wearing
  • Seamless finish
  • Excellent chemical resistance
  • Wide choice of colours
  • Anti-slip and line-marking options

Work undertaken

To ensure a professional finish, our installation team employed diamond-headed grinding machines to properly prepare the surface. This process is not only the most efficient way to remove weak and friable laitance but it also ensures a secure anchor for the resin coating. With vacuum assistance built into the machines, the operation is almost completely dust-free.

After careful preparation, two coats of RXEP Hi-Build 500 were applied, after which a multitude of line markings were put into place.

Challenges

One of the greatest challenges we faced was coordinating our activities with those of other trades on-site to ensure the project stayed on schedule.

Outcome

Since this project we have also successfully accomplished the sealing of a mezzanine wooden floor and the application of an anti-slip resin flooring, our client is incredibly pleased and further projects have been discussed.
