Who does not love a Nando’s?

Objective

Provide a seamless, anti-slip resin flooring system, which would be aesthetically pleasing, hard-wearing, hygienic, and easy to keep clean.

Materials used

Foodsafe Quartz installed at 4mm with coving at 75mm.

Foodsafe Quartz is a Methyl Methacrylate Resin (MMA) resin flooring system that has been developed to enable fast-track, exceptionally durable, and a long-lasting flooring solution that once applied can receive full pedestrian and vehicular traffic within just 60 minutes.
Foodsafe Quartz is highly resistant to abrasion, impact, and chemical exposure, making it ideal for use in high-traffic environments such as industrial facilities, warehouses, and workshops. It is also commonly used in commercial settings such as kitchens, hotels, hospitals, laboratories, and food processing plants due to its hygienic properties and ease of maintenance. Foodsafe Quartz is available in a range of colours and finishes, making it easy to create a customized look to match any decor.

Work Undertaken

To ensure an almost dust-free operation, diamond grinding machines equipped with vacuum assistance were utilized to mechanically prepare the current floor. After a meticulous preparation process, a layer of RX Foodsafe Quartz measuring 4mm in thickness and featuring a resin cove measuring 75mm was installed.

Challenges

The project was accomplished in a single day to ensure minimal interference with the client’s operations and a swift return to regular business operations.

Outcome

Nando’s has not only enhanced its visual appeal, but also ensured safety and ease of maintenance in its prep kitchen with its splendid new flooring, which is slip-resistant and straightforward to maintain.
