Paternoster Chophouse

Installation of rapid resin screed, Robex Foodsafe Quartz, to the restaurant kitchen and pot wash. We were approached by the restaurant as the Head Chef was not happy with the old flooring he had in use. It was a very light colour and was extremely coarse, which made it difficult to clean. This restaurant is most famous for its TV show, “First Dates” which is filmed on site.

Work undertaken

The entire floor was de-greased and prepared mechanically, by our diamond headed grinding machine with vacuum extraction. Our Foodsafe Quartz seamless resin system was then installed, including all coving.

The Foodsafe Quartz system incorporates a primer coat, followed by a self-levelling resin. Whilst the resin is still wet, a coloured quartz aggregate is broadcast into the resin to fully blind the surface. Once the resin has cured, the excess aggregate is removed and two sealer coats are then applied. All coving is then installed, using the same quartz aggregate.

Challenges

The entire works had to be completed in two days ready for the filming of First Dates.

Outcome

A fit for purpose resin floor installation, which is now easy to maintain and clean. The chef was delighted with the management of the project and is delighted with the new rapid resin screed floor.
