The Grove Hotel

To remove the existing coating and recoat the concrete floor. Robex has completed numerous contracts at The Grove Hotel, which is set in a 300-acre estate, next to the River Gade and the Grand Union Canal at Chandlers Ford in Hertfordshire. The golf course within the estate has held major international events including the WGC American express Championships in 2006 won by Tiger Woods.

Materials used

Robex Hi-Build PU in a matt finish.

Work undertaken

Remove all the existing coating using a diamond headed grinder with a vacuum attachment and then apply three coats of the Epoxy/Polyurethane Hi-Build system.

Challenges

Apart from very high levels of security due to the forthcoming NATO conference – once we started to remove the existing coating, the floor staring to ‘break up’ and the floor took a lot longer to prepare than expected.

Outcome

The client was absolutely delighted with the results.
