Berendsen plc is a major provider of textile services, with sites throughout the UK. As the leading industrial flooring experts, Robex Contracting were asked by Berendsen to install replacement industrial flooring at their Wednesbury, West Midlands site. We installed a new hard-wearing epoxy resin floor coating as detailed below:

Challenges faced installing replacement industrial flooring

The contract was not straightforward, as most of the work had to take place whilst this busy laundry was still in operation. We, therefore, arranged to install the new epoxy floor coating at night and weekends. This met the clients needs and adhered to health and safety requirements.

Materials used

RXEP Hi-Build 500 - Robex manufacture RXEP Hi-Build 500 epoxy resin, which has excellent chemical resistance and offers a high-performance, seamless coating. This type of epoxy resin is perfect to replace your old and worn-out concrete floor to increase durability.

Work undertaken

The floor was mechanically prepared using sophisticated preparation equipment with a vacuum attachment. The vacuum attachment ensured that there was 95% less dust pollution keeping the laundry clean.The floor was then coated with epoxy resin coating, RXEP Hi-Build 500 in various colours to create walkways, zebra crossing etc. Using the resin floor coating in this manner assisted in achieving Health and Safety regulations for the workplace.

Outcome

The client was delighted with the new easy-to-clean, hard-wearing resin floor, as well as with the quality of the workmanship.
