Objective

Lift and improve the existing floor using a resin flooring system to create a clean and professional industrial surface on which to work, with safety line marking to differentiate between working areas, safety zones and other essential information.

The RXEP Hi-Build 500 resin flooring system is designed for superior chemical resistance, strength, and resilience. Ideal for a variety of industrial, commercial, and manufacturing environments, including warehouses, chemical processing facilities, printing operations, food production plants, bakeries, dairies, abattoirs, and breweries, it comes in a variety of colors and can be customized with anti-slip features and line markings. RXEP Hi-Build 500 is solvent free and has very low odour during application.

Work undertaken

The entire floor was cleared of all machinery and engineering stock kept in the workshop. The substrate was mechanically prepared using diamond headed grinding machines with vacuum assistance which facilitated a 95% dust-free operation.
The walkways and specific areas for designated machine tools were then marked out ready for the application of two coats of RXEP Hi-Build 500 which were applied in a predetermined selection of colour’s

Challenges

The existing floor was in poor condition with a coating that had been applied some years earlier. Lyreco were looking for a complete preparation and installation to be achieved in a four-day period.
